A faster, modular React storefront on Shopify for an Apple Watch band brand

Braxley Bands needed a website that was fast, modular, and worked with Shopify. We built a React.js storefront on the Shopify API that loaded faster than builder sites and automated fulfillment and abandoned-cart notifications.

The project

The challenge

Braxley Bands, a custom Apple Watch band company, needed a website that was fast, modular, and worked with Shopify.

Speed matters in e-commerce, especially for shoppers on phones, and all-in-one site builders like Wix and Squarespace give you less control over performance. Modularity matters as a catalog grows: new collections and pages should be assembled from existing parts, not built from scratch.

What we built

We built a custom storefront in React.js on top of the Shopify API. This setup is often called headless commerce: React renders what shoppers see, and Shopify runs the back end.

The front end was modular, built from reusable components, so new pages and products fit into the same system instead of requiring new code.

Because Shopify handled the back-office work, fulfillment and abandoned-cart notifications ran automatically.

The result

  • Compared with builder platforms like Wix and Squarespace, the new site loaded faster.
  • Fulfillment and abandoned-cart notifications ran automatically through the Shopify back end.
  • The modular front end gave the store room to grow with its product line.

Where AI takes it next

How we'd extend this product with today's AI — the same thinking we bring to every client roadmap.

  1. 01

Virtual try-on: a shopper uploads a photo of their wrist, picks a band, and an image model shows it on their own watch and case size.

  2. 02

A style assistant that suggests bands by outfit, occasion, or photo, and confirms the band fits the shopper's Apple Watch model and case size before checkout.

  3. 03

Product content at scale: AI drafts descriptions, alt text, and SEO metadata for each new colorway from its photos and specs, and a person approves it before it goes live.

  4. 04

Smarter cart recovery: abandoned-cart messages that show the exact band left behind, suggest a close alternative, and go out when that shopper usually opens email.
